4) Rice pounding

Traditional way of preparing the rice powder is made. This requires physical work and was mostly done by the woman in the home. As an activity rice pounding helps you to open your eye on how tough was the days gone by.

5) Country boat ride through the narrow canal

I would say this is the most exciting and relaxing activity in the Vaikom Village tour. You will go on a country boat through the narrow canals. This gives you a great chance to see the village life that thrives around the canals. Here, people’s life is integrated with waterbodies and they rely on small canals and lake for livelihood.

6) Toddy tapping

Toddy is a traditional alcohol in India and is produced from Coconut trees. You get an opportunity to see how toddy is being tapped and also a small amount of Toddy to taste 😊

8) Coir weaving

Coir is a traditional material extracted from coconut husk. Coir making is a skilled work mostly done by woman and it helps them to attain financial stability. See how coir is being made form coconut husk.

9) Kerala Sadya

10) Pottery at Vaikom Village
